I’m Melvin Brooks. For more than seventy years, faith and family have carried me — from a one-room shack to a life built on purpose. This is an invitation to walk that road together.

What we stand on
Three things hold a life together
Family
It begins at home — built on love, patience, and a foundation that holds through every season.
Community
We were never meant to do life alone. We carry one another, and we care for the weak, the orphan, and the widow.
Loyalty
Keep your word. Stand with the people you love. Faithfulness, day after day, is what changes a life.
A word of encouragement
For whatever season you’re in
“We may weep in the night, but joy comes in the morning.”
“Love works life in us; hate stirs up conflict.”
“Keep praying and believe you will win. Don’t stop.”
Melvin’s Story
From a shack on a muddy road to a life of purpose
“From 1953 on, I was old enough to understand our family life. Ten of us lived in that shack for nine years. We had a garden, pigs and chickens that helped feed us. We had good, loving parents.”
What began in hardship became a testimony of faith, perseverance, and the quiet power of a family that refused to give up on one another. That story — and what it taught me about God, people, and purpose — is what I want to share with you.

The Law of Community
No one was meant to do life alone
Community means one family reaching out to another — and a place to belong for anyone who has none. “To be loved means to be chosen,” Melvin writes. Here, everyone is chosen.
That’s the heart behind the work: a circle wide enough for the lonely, the weary, and the searching to find a seat at the table.
More from the book“Do not worry about your life… Look at the birds of the air; your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Matthew 6:25–26
